I have been slacking on publishing new things I've been working on, sorry! I really can't believe just how busy I am and I know it's because people are sending their friend's my name- so THANK YOU!!! I just feel so lucky that my little hobby of sewing baby/ kiddie things is taking on a life of it's own. Here are a few new designs. Sorry they are so dark... again photography is not my strong suit. I'll leave that to Sunday (check out her site!)

I made a special birthday bib for a friend's son. His invitations were green and blue with a cupcake... I think it turned out fairly well.... Larger bibs like this with a custom applique are $12

Another bunny tee!I'm trying something new... a hooded towel for a toddler. It's a full size bath towel, so it's probably too big for a baby, but perfect for when your child starts to outgrow their bath towel. I added a cute strip of fabric to this one and monogrammed the side. I think the name would also be cute on the hood. I'm thinking $20.... Let me know what you think about these :-) Thanks to my cute model Braden!Twins! Emma and Ella. These have a sweet pink and green dot or a pink/ green microcheck. I really love the "scroll" appliqued on a shirt with a name....

Another reversible cupcake dress for a birthday girl!I really like this new stripe-y minky fleece- it's sooo soft for bibs or changing pads, and the sock monkeys? They are always a favorite!

Hopefully this spring I'll be adding some gifts for "Mommy's friends" kitchen and hand towels, koozies, mousepads, etc- just fun little gifts for you to pick up for friends as housewarming or small birthday gifts. I mean, come on, who doesn't "need" a monogrammed koozie for the springtime????

New designs

I have added a ton of new designs...Yeah! Some were suggestions of things people saw at Planet Applique, and others are ones I've had and just hadn't used yet. I can't decide what's my new favorite... I love when people ask for a design, don't hesitate :-) I think some of these would be cute in the larger size on a beach towel, or even on a bathroom towel with a name underneath...maybe I'll make some samples this weekend...

The first two are called "Scrolls"- there's fabric appliqued on and then monogram on top. So fun on a onesie or a tee!



This is a plain tee that I used an applique called "Baby Bet"- it's all lowercase and the letters are about 1.5 in tall. I'm trying to make William some "big boy" outfits for the summer- cute shorts and matching tees. I have visions of potty training...I can dream he'll be ready, right? :-) I may start selling shorts- let me know what you think about them.

A new Easter design....
Another tee design- the shark is adorable with the gray gingham underbelly... It matches blue and green check shorts, that's why his name's in green....
A good friend from Windy Gap asked me to make a dress for her daughter's first birthday- it reverses to a pink and white strip with her name in hot pink, and of course I had to do a matching bib to protect the dress from cake time.
I am in love with this alligator. This is what I think I'll put on a towel first. he'd be so cute with hot pink spines!

Isn't this monkey sweet??? How can you not love the gingham feet?This golf cart onesie was a suggestion- the dad's a golf pro. It's hard to tell from the picture, but I must've been channelling my inner Payne Stewart- it's all different colors of ginghams and plaids.The chick is on a pin stripe jonjon for Easter and reverses to a blue plaid with a monogram.

I made this for a student's sister. She's a teen mom and doesn't even have a nursery for the baby- I think all babies deserve sweet things. Hopefully she will spit up joyfully on this burpcloth!And lastly, I just couldn't resist this sweet picture of my little William..... :-)

I have been so busy...thanks to everyone who's passing my name and information along. It's so exciting! I've had a few people ask about monogrammed koozies and guest towels ...i may be adding some other gifts along those lines soon- stay tuned! Here are a few of the many projects I've been up to this week...

New t-shirt designs. (Check out www.planetapplique.com for other designs. I have a large percentage of their designs on hand.) I just love this bunny for Easter. He's so cute in a solid or gingham!

I am head over heels for this new Jack Russell Terrier design. Is he not adorable? My son cried when I gave him away to another baby...I need to make him one asap!

I love this baby set- minky fleece with coordinating appliqued initials. A friend at school had this idea. I think it turned out nicely.

This is for a baby (name unknown) whose parents are die-hard Cleveland Brown's fans... I even found a cute football themed ribbon to wrap it all up in :-)

I made a jonjon similar to this for William's birthday, but think this one is too sweet not to share.

The mom sent me all the fabric and it reverses to a plain blue broadcloth with the baby's name in brown. the cupcake has a corduroy liner and a blue fleece-y icing. yummy! We did a matching bib for the birthday party. I hope they love it as much as I do!

New projects

Our snow days are over, but I've been able to manage squeezing in some good sewing time recently. I can't believe how many orders I'm getting for tees and baby stuff- so fun! Thank you!!! Here are a few things I did over the weekend and last week.

Sibling tees/ onesies... The big letter with the name under it have been a huge hit :-)

I love doing baby sets- I thought red for this little guy would be fun and the letter and name below look pretty fun on a burp cloth!

I really like the look of a letter and then the name below it for a bib...Babies should look cute when they're spitting rice cereal back out on you!I'm really liking this new font. It's called "Fine Tip Marker"... the back of the minky bib had more giraffes on it.
After everything's been washed and pressed I just love to wrap them up with a sweet bow.

What a sweet friend! She wanted a baby gift (turtles) and then didn't want to leave the big sister out so she ordered her a tee- fun!

And this is my new favorite applique- the sweet bunny. Maybe I'm dreaming of spring and Easter- won't this be cute on a tee in chocolate brown? Maybe with a pink bow in the bunny's ear for Easter????

Snow Day 2010

In TN it doesn't require a lot of snow to shut things down, but we were out on Friday and actually got 2-3 in snow and 1/2 in of ice. The ice kind of ruined our snow fun outside, so I spent my snow day sewing.... I can't believe how many orders I've gotten lately. Thank you!!!

I've been saving this apple and pear fabric...it's so hard to let go of pretty fabric! I love how this baby set turned out!

This gift set was for a new mom with twins! I can't even imagine!!! The fleece changing pad reverses to the same fabric as the burp cloths, I really like how the double monogram turned out!

I had lots of baby orders this week- here's one more- with sweet blue and green turtles. I

still have some turtles on a white background- it could be cute for a boy or girl!

I've been a tee-shirt-making -fool this weekend! Good thing I like them. The appliques give me instant gratification! I've done a few more Valentine tees, several initial tees, and a new hot rod tee. Here's a sampling...

More baby things...and "big kid" things too!

Yeah! I had my first "order"....and it was someone I didn't know! I couldn't believe it! Here is her order...a cute bib with minky fleece on one side and matching fabric for the burp cloth on the other side!

My sweet friend Melanie ordered another set of three for a baby gift. This bib is a store bought terry cloth bib with coordinating letters appliqued to match the burp cloth. Here are the gifts tied up with a cute bow and ready to be mailed off.... I hope they like them!

My college roommate has three precious kids that I LOVE to sew for...2 girls and a sweet baby boy! here are a few things I finished for them this weekend....

I love this whale fabric. William wore this in green last year and I found it in baby blue this year... there's even a little chest pocket on the front. I love to make custom things from fabric you find and can't live without :-) Check out the Fabric Finders website and they have a link to find stores in your area that sell their fabric....

This fabric is Fabric Finders too- it's a white pique with pink or blue hippos and black dots...I made "Katie" style jumpers for the girls and a "James" jonjon for the boy. I can't wait to see how cute they look this spring wearing these!

This is a modified "Anna" style jumper where I cut the bodice and add white pique fabric and coordinating piping so I can monogram the dress. Sometimes I love the fabric (this is Fabric Finders too)...but it's too busy to monogram so this is an easy way to fix that "problem." :-)

I did the exact same thing to these dresses, but if you look closely you can see that the dresses are piped with the fabric I made the jonjon out of...so they coordinate, but aren't too matchy-matchy.....

So that was this weekend. I was busy...but finished a lot of stuff I had cut out, but just hadn't "finished".... I'd be happy to show you some of the fabric I have available... or to make something for you out of something you find. Ebay is another great place to "shop" for fabrics...Search Michael Miller, Robert Kauffman, Fabric Finders, etc. I love JCaroline Creative online...Or if you live close to Gastonia, NC Mary Jo's is the BEST fabric store around!!! I'm getting some new applique patterns for tee shirts soon- check back later this week :-)
